Work Experience

Work Experience provides the opportunity for our students to practice and perfect the skills they learn on real clients in a real salon environment.

We have integrated work experience throughout your studies ensuring that all our students gain valuable real client experience including client bookings, Skin Diagnosis, retailing, in- store promotions, salon team work and even some salon management skills.

Students are required to complete 150 hours of external work experience in a commercial salon before they can be awarded with their qualification. Work experience will count towards the assessment of the course.

Work experience will be done concurrently with study during Term 3 and 4. Work experience is not paid work and and is not included in the 20 hours per week international students are permitted to work.

For both our college students and our distance education students we also work closely with many Beauty Therapy employers to provide work experience, and are happy to put you in touch with salons within our network.
